This watercolor sketch shows a historic building. I don’t know what all it has been in its life but it has been around a long time.

There just isn’t a good angle to paint this building …unless maybe you are in a balloon or something. It’s on a hill. It isn’t at the top of the hill but it is the highest point when viewed from the front. Nevertheless, I tried to correct for the distortion of angle and give it a fair representation.

I love to do small watercolor sketches. This is the thing that gives me the most pleasure, I suppose. It’s too bad they aren’t so valued by others. Everything has to be big these days. It’s sad.
