Crazy Cat Lady Club - Rescuing Kitties MY way

June 25th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Announcing the formation of the Crazy Cat Lady Club. What this means, I don’t know…yet. But you can post here, in the comment section, your support for all of us Crazy Cat Ladies in the world.

Personally, I can’t keep writing about cats on new posts every other day, because it’s driving down the art side of my blog and that is how I pay the bills for cat rescuing. I’d love to talk about kitties all the time, but I need to consolidate it for the sake of my art business. So here we are….

As I said, I don’t know exactly what this means, yet. I’ve been calling myself the Crazy Cat Lady for several years now, and that name has more than one irony in it for me.

I have found that other people who like to use this name don’t have much respect for feral cat rescue. They are instead into some kind of political correctness, anti “animal hording” thing. I guess that is supposed to make it all sound okay. Well you know what? The cats don’t care if you have other cats, they just want to live. And sending them to “shelters” to be killed doesn’t make you a cat person, it makes you complicit in murder.

The shelter will kill them. I won’t. Find out more about feral kitten rescue from my personal perspective.

We actually have about 5 pet cats, all rescued. But we also feed and care for many more feral cats and kittens on our small farm. They aren’t pets, like I said, they live outside on the fringes of our civilization - they just don’t want to die. So I feed them.

If you support cat rescue, drop a comment here and let me know. I’m not really asking for anything more than moral support. If you don’t like cats, I don’t want to hear about it. ..And if you are a rescuer of kitties, tell us your story!

Thank you.

I too love cats. My dad and I have rescued cats that have shown up at our business through the years. I would proudly be a member of the crazy cat ladies club.

Charlene & I recently rescued a momma cat and 2 kitties, 1 other disappeared and feared dead. We found them a home, and I wrote a day to day exerience for 9 days. See Day In The Life Of A Wildcat 1-9. We are on the track of a mama cat in downtown Norman, Oklahoma now. We are thinking of starting “Pregnant Paws.”
